The Blackmail II is a sexual/psychological thriller that explores the experiences of a young couple who set out on their honeymoon, but end up traveling the road to sexual slavery and degradation.

The virginal Asuka is ready to marry the handsome and much sought after Ryosuke, and it seems that all the other girls are jealous —including Asuka’s mother and little sister.

After the wedding, they go to the airport hotel for the much awaited wedding night before they board a morning flight for Hawaii.

Like many of Nu-tech’s offerings, this is a three-disc set that spans a few nights in the lives of the characters. The animation is all top notch, and the look of each character matches his or her personality—the bad guys look evil, the little sister looks young and virginal, and Asuka is both sad and sexy. The DVD menu is easy to navigate, and well designed; there are stills from the feature artistically placed in the menus, and navigation of chapters, previews and options is simple and quick. As usual, Nu-tech offers the choice of listening to the film in the original Japanese, with or without English sub-titles - an excellent option if you find the dialogue a bit hokey. Just remember that what gets lost in translation can sometimes enhance the overall entertainment value.

Some Hentai is all fantasy adventure, and what little sex is shown is almost a comic novelty. Well, not so in this feature - it opens with fucking, and almost never stops. The scenes are long and detailed and very explicit; there are lots of gang-bangs and a series of de-flowerings, all under fantastic circumstances. As the story rolls along, Asuka’s little sister and mother are dragged into the clutches of the sex-slavers, and all of her friends get involved as well. There are elements of jealousy and threads of vengeance gone wrong running through the plot, and everyone pays or gets paid with sex - as is evidenced by the climactic scene, a surreal and debauched vision of sexual vengeance.

Though the sex is nearly non-stop, the plot is still very complex, or at least it seems so when you’re trying to follow it. Important elements of the story, as well as key details about secondary characters, aren’t introduced until close to the end of the third and final disc. This leads to some confusion as to how Asuka was chosen by the sex-slavers, and how her sister was dragged into their clutches. There are confusing flashbacks as well that do little to clarify things and make it difficult to tell what’s happening in the present and what has happened in the past.

If you want a lot of long, well drawn and imaginatively conceived Hentai sex scenes, then you’ll like this one, as long as you understand that a lot of the sex is fairly degrading. And if you’re left wondering what’s next for Asuka and Ryosuke, you’ll be happy to know that the ending is the perfect set-up for a sequel...
